Lisa Intemann is a Wauchope resident and has been an elected Councillor for Port Macquarie-Hastings for over 18 years. A proud mother and grandmother to five delightful boys, she grew up in Sydney, gaining a science degree and then working in that profession in both Australia and UK.
On return to Australia, Lisa went back to what she calls her 'first love', working with horses and managing a horse-drawn vehicle tourist business in inner Sydney. She then moved with her future husband to western NSW, experiencing first hand what it's like to live where water is more valuable than gold.
In 1988, Lisa moved to the Hastings, becoming involved in the community services sector and managing two local community information centres before going back to University and in 2010 completing a research PhD. Lisa was first elected to council in 1995.
Lisa is interested in all aspects of council's operations and greatly enjoys being involved in community decision making. She believes Council is a great team doing a tough job, and that the organisation needs the support of its community to be most effective.
