The Glasshouse

The Glasshouse is our arts, culture, leisure and entertainment hub. It’s located in the centre of Port Macquarie’s CBD and includes a theatre, regional art gallery, studio space, conference and meeting facilities, exhibition spaces, visitor information centre and heritage displays.

Visiting the Glasshouse

The Glasshouse is located on the corner of Clarence and Hay Streets, Port Macquarie. You can find information about current events, shows, displays and activities on the Glasshouse Port Macquarie website.

The Glasshouse Visitor Information Centre is a great place to learn more about the area, make bookings for local events, or browse the gift shop. 

Hiring the Glasshouse

There are a range of spaces and services available for hire at competitive hire packages. The Glasshouse facility also provides the region’s most advanced technical and production infrastructure.

Spaces available: 

  • 588-seat (tiered) theatre auditorium, with a full fly tower and orchestra pit
  • 114-seat (removable, tiered) Glasshouse studio: a black box studio exhibition, performance or workshop space
  • International standard regional gallery spanning more than 600 square metres, over three levels
  • Large foyer spaces which can be used as dedicated trade show and exhibition areas. 
  • A variety of meeting rooms and boardrooms to suit business bookings for up to 140 people
  • Hay Street Forecourt outdoor space, located in front of Port Central and the Glasshouse* 

Community Hire

Your community group may be eligible to receive 50 percent discount on venue hire rates. For information on eligibility, charges and how to book, visit the Glasshouse website.

Glasshouse Studio Discount

Performing arts organisations or individual performance artists may be eligible for a 30 percent discount on Glasshouse Studio hire rates. For information on eligibility, charges and how to book, visit the Glasshouse website.
