Bulky goods kerbside collection


If you have a domestic waste collection service, you can book a "bulky" waste kerbside collection for household furniture items and small white goods.

  • A fee of $44 covers up to a maximum of 2 cubic metres, equivalent to the size of a small trailer.
  • A fee of $88 covers up to a maximum of 4 cubic metres. 

Make a booking

Step 1.Check what items are accepted

  • Read what items are acceptable and not acceptable.
  • Items should not be so big or heavy that two people cannot pick up.

Step 2.Recycle what you can

Check which items can be recycled or dropped off for free at a waste transfer station. 

Step 3.Have your credit card ready

Accepted payment methods are Visa or Mastercard.

Step 4.Make your booking

  • To secure your collection time for the next week, bookings must be made before 3pm on a Friday.
  • Bookings made after 3pm on a Friday will be scheduled for the following week.
  • Items should be placed kerbside by Sunday evening and will be collected by Wednesday evening.

What you CAN put out for collection

We accept household items only such as:

  • household furniture
  • small white goods (eg washing machine, dryer, bar fridge)
  • small electrical appliances
  • Single items capable of being easily lifted by two persons.

What you CAN'T put out for collection

The following items are NOT accepted:

  • mattresses/ensembles
  • full sized fridges
  • builder’s waste
  • rolls of carpet
  • motor vehicle parts
  • green waste or tree loppings
  • household garbage
  • tyres
  • gas bottles
  • industrial or farm waste
  • hazardous waste (e.g. chemicals, paints)

Get ready for pick up

  • Your booking receipt will show the week your collection will be picked up.
  • Make sure all items are out for collection by the Sunday night before your allocated pickup week.
  • Collections occur Monday to Wednesday each week.
  • Keep scrap metal in a separate pile as this is collected separately to general items.
