Safety on our roads is important to maintain a healthy, vibrant community.

We work closely with Transport for NSW to deliver local road safety programs in our region.

Parking Safely in NSW

Refresh your knowledge of the parking rules in NSW. Click here to learn about parking signage, areas you can and cannot park, and the minimum distances you must leave when parking near intersections, crossings or bus stops.

Little Blue Dinosaur - Child Pedestrian Safety

Each year we partner with the Little Blue Dinosaur Foundation for their “It’s Holiday Time” campaign, promoting child pedestrian safety. The campaign reminds children and their carers to hold hands near roads, driveways and carparks, and asks drivers to take care and be alert for kids when driving.

E-Scooters

If you are looking to buy an e-scooters, make sure you know the rules before purchasing. You cannot ride personal e-scooters on NSW roads, footpaths, shared paths or bicycle lanes. They can only be used on private property. To find out more information about the rules surrounding the use of e-scooters visit the Centre for Road Safety.

Drive with care, be koala aware

Driving safely is not only important for keeping people safe, it also helps protect our vulnerable wildlife. Launched in National Road Safety Week this campaign aims to promote safe driving habits. We are asking the community to take the pledge to “Drive with care, be koala and wildlife aware” to receive a FREE pledge pack. The pack includes a car air freshener, key ring and bumper sticker.

Motorcycle riders are more exposed and risk serious injuries if they are in a crash.

Between 2014 to 2018, 306 motorcyclists were killed and more than 12,100 hospitalised from injuries sustained in crashes on NSW roads.

Concerns about speeding

Speeding and driving in a dangerous manner is a serious concern for our entire community, and is the responsibility of the Police to enforce.

Where you witness any dangerous driving or speeding, please report this directly to the Police so they can better target their monitoring, enforcement and education programs.
