The purpose of this Policy is to outline matters to be taken into consideration by us when exercising its environmental assessment and planning functions in relation to Development in the Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area.
The Policy addresses the new directions in Flood Risk management that are embodied in the NSW Government’s Flood Prone Land Policy and which are emphasised in the 2005 edition of the government’s Floodplain Development Manual. It also draws from the latest Flood modelling results documented in government funded Flood and Floodplain management studies that have been completed in the region
