Master Locksmith Access Key

The Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) allows people with a disability to access local wheelchair facilities which are otherwise kept locked. This can include elevators, toilets and adaptive playground equipment.

You can apply to purchase an MLAK to ensure wheelchair accessibility to all local facilities.

Which local facilities are locked with the MLAK system?

The following wheelchair accessible toilets are locked with the MLAK system:

  • Gordon Street, Port Macquarie (next to the Port Macquarie bus terminal)
  • Short Street car park, Port Macquarie
  • Glasshouse, Port Macquarie (staff at the Visitor Information Centre have an MLAK key and can unlock the Glasshouse amenities for you)
  • McInherney Park, Port Macquarie
  • Laurieton School of Arts
  • Wauchope CWA Hall (located between the CWA Hall and Wauchope's Customer Service Centre; Wauchope Library staff have an MLAK key)
  • Wauchope Memorial Olympic Pool
  • Sancrox Reserve

How can I purchase an MLAK?

  1. To request a Letter of Authorisation, return a completed MLAK application form to Council. If approved, the Letter of Authorisation will be posted to your address.
  2. Take the letter to a locksmith who is a member of the Master Locksmiths Association and buy an MLAK key.
