Here's a brief introduction to what we do:

What is the Men’s Table?

The Men’s Table is all about men serving men. The first Men's Table (MT1) began in 2011 with 12 men who have met once a month for dinner ever since. The Men's Table has grown and become a national charity and is still growing currently with over 250 Tables Australia wide.

The Men’s Table creates a unique environment for men to share openly about their lives, their challenges, their highs and lows with a group of men who they learn to know, like and trust. A safe space where men can "go beyond banter" to have better conversations and connections.

The Men’s Table creates a sense of belonging, community, peer support and camaraderie that is lacking for many men, even for some who already have a group of mates.

Belonging to a Men’s Table contributes to mental, emotional and social well-being whilst being a powerful support to individual members' journeys through life.

Setting Up A New Table

Our first step is usually to identify and call in community influencers and champions to a Community Meeting(s) to hear what has worked well in the past and if there is a burning need in the community.

We will listen to men and women who care about building a flourishing community and hear what has worked before and what has worked less well, and about the appetite /need in the community for a Men's Well-being Group.
In this process Activated & Community Minded persons will hear why The Men's Table is different, why it works and to understand the potential benefits and to establish confidence that we are a fit for their community.
We then activate and support local efforts towards attracting men to an Entree Event for the coming months. Along with ongoing support and mentoring to build a successful Table

- What venues are there where a Table of 10 - 12 men could meet once a month privately over a meal?

What is a Men's Table Entree Event?

The Entree Event is a ‘Taster’, a chance for men to meet other men, learn about how a Table works and help men to decide whether they'd like to be part of the local Men’s Table group.

It will be hosted by a couple of long-standing members of other Men's Tables (Regional Hosts), sharing their experiences from their Tables and their work supporting Tables, and responding to questions, concerns and ideas.

The Men's Table is a registered charity, it's a grass roots activity driven by men in the local community. There is no membership fee to be part of a Table. The only cost is a man's meal and drink at the Entree Event and then at regular meetings.
