The Hastings Arts Trail returns this June long weekend, offering a rare glimpse into the studios, galleries, and shared spaces of our region’s talented creatives. 

The trail stretches from Wauchope to the Port Macquarie CBD and industrial precinct, winding south through coastal and rural areas along the way. A range of mediums will be available to explore, including painting, drawing, sculpture, woodwork, ceramics, mixed media, textiles, printmaking and more. 
Venues include art and craft centres, creative hubs, galleries and of course plenty of home studios. Guests are invited to view (and purchase) unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and witness the creative process firsthand.
A self guided experience, visitors can browse the printed or interactive online map, select their favourite makers and venues and start exploring at a pace that suits them.

Held on Saturday and Sunday immediately following Friday’s Artwalk, the event is the initiative of local artist Vivianne Hazenveld, proudly supported by PMHC Community Grants and the Port Macquarie Museum.

“Artists went all out last year, with live demonstrations, communal artworks, and free activities,” says Ms. Hazenveld. “We had everything from easels under the trees, live music, homemade treats, and even a Hills Hoist draped in canvases. There were also a lot of surprisingly tidy studios!”

After experiencing some serious FOMO last year, Vivianne will be joining her fellow creatives by opening the doors of her own studio.

“The weekend has a really inspiring yet relaxed vibe, and I love seeing so many genuine connections being made,” she says. “There is something so special about that one-on-one interaction that can be hard to find.”
