Following the announcement of a Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Grant (LCRI) in May 2020, we began consulting with the North Shore community to understand their priorities.
The key focus areas included road repair works on Shoreline Drive, North Shore Drive and Riverside Drive - as well as improved pedestrian links for recreational use.
The $960,000 LCRI Grant funded the following maintenance works:
Riverside Drive - cul-de-sac through to Hibbard Ferry
Shoreline Drive - from Riverside Dr through to North Shore drive
Eight side streets along North Shore Drive
Plomer Road - 270m 50km/h Residential Zone
North Shore Drive - 54 North Shore Drive to Plomer Road
View the tabs below to find out what else is planned.
We are committed to detailed design work to rehabilitate the remaining section of Shoreline Drive.
This work requires detailed investigation, planning and design, including:
Geotechnical surveys and services investigations
Hydrology and hydraulic modelling
Pavement options study
We’re committed to completing this preliminary work in 2022/23.
This will ensure the project is ‘shovel ready’ meaning it will be ready for construction and enable us to apply for grant funding and nominate for inclusion in future Operational Plans.
Following the completion of the detailed design, Shoreline Drive will be what we call “shovel ready” - which means we are able to seek and submit grant applications to fund the rehabilitation as they become available in the future.
