Peta is the first woman elected to the role of Mayor for the region of Port Macquarie-Hastings. Her election as a popular elected Mayor came after a by-election in August 2017.
With no prior experience in Local Government, Peta took to the role of Mayor with a vision to improve customer experience, improve asset delivery by the organisation, increase engagement with the community as well as being a strong advocate for residents.
Prior to her entry into Council, Peta worked within her business Stabilcorp and focussed on road safety initiatives, specifically relating to the reduction of road injuries and deaths on rural/regional road networks.
Her company is responsible for developing an attachment, ShoulderMaster which widens the shoulders of roads, giving the motorist a wider and safer area to correct the vehicle if necessary, and reducing the likelihood of vehicle road run off and crashes.
Before joining Council Peta worked hard in the area of road safety and the business has seen three Australian Business awards as a result of the development of the ShoulderMaster attachment. The business has also seen National and Global success in recent times.
Peta left the business to focus full time on the responsibilities of representing the region of Port Macquarie-Hastings and the interests of the ratepayers and residents.
