Sub-committees

Our Sub-Committee's help to assist Council with its decision and resolutions for their delegated areas of responsibility. They are a separate decision making body to Council, but conduct their business in meetings as well.

Confidential Committees

Some committees conduct their business in a closed forum and are not open to the public. The Sub Committees which are confidential are:

  • Airport Advisory Group
  • Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee
  • Conduct Committee
  • Mayor's Sporting Fund Sub-Committee
  • Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Emergency Management Sub-Committee.

 

Joining a Sub-Committee

Sub-Committee members can include elected Councillors, members of government departments and agencies, community representatives, industry stakeholders and the interested community members.

When a sub-committee is being formed,an Expression of Interest (EOI) will open for applications. Submissions are reviewed and assessed against appropriate selection criteria by an independent third party entity. A report is then provided for a future Council meeting in relation to appointing the Committee.

The opportunities that are currently open for expressions of interest are listed below:

Port Macquarie Transport Network Community Consultative Committee

Council is currently inviting expressions of interest for strategic thinkers, innovators and open minded individuals to help us fill the roles of independent chairperson and members, for the Port Macquarie Transport Network Community Consultative Committee (PMTNCCC).

The PMTNCC's main roles and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Council in meeting its commitment to address the Integrated Transport Network Plan and broader Port Macquarie road network improvements and upgrades
  • Promoting information sharing between Council, local community members and other key stakeholders, on the proposed Orbital Road options and broader Port Macquarie road network improvements and upgrades
  • Working collaboratively with Council and providing feedback on the Integrated Transport Network Plan, Strategic Business Case studies or reports and broader Port Macquarie road network improvements and upgrades, and
  • Providing a forum for the community members and other stakeholders to share / seek information and provide feedback to Council on the development of the Strategic Business Case for the proposed Integrated Transport Network Plan, including planned traffic network improvements and upgrades to the existing Port Macquarie road network.

Applications close on 7 February 2022.
All submissions will be reviewed and assessed against appropriate selection criteria by an independent third party entity. A report will then be provided for a future Council meeting in relation to appointing the Committee members .
