Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy

Adopted: 20 June 2024

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our region’s Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy, a comprehensive approach aimed at ensuring the sustainable management of our precious water resources. We understand the immense value and significance of water in our lives and the need for responsible stewardship.

Water is essential not only for our daily needs but also for maintaining a healthy environment and promoting economic growth

With continued population growth, it is crucial that we take proactive measures to safeguard our water supply and preserve its quality for generations to come.

Our Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy embodies a holistic approach that encompasses water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management. By integrating these elements into one cohesive framework, we will optimise the identification of strengths and problems, address these problems, determine the appropriate management response, and manage the impacts to meet our objectives.

This strategy has been developed through a collaborative effort involving experts, stakeholders, and community members alike. It reflects the collective vision and aspirations of our region as we work together towards being the most liveable, sustainable, and innovative place in Australia.

Through this strategy, we aim to address pressing issues such as water security for a growing population, water quality, environmental protection, innovative technologies for our assets and infrastructure, and affordability of three waters services, while implementing best practices in water management. By adopting new technologies, focusing on education and awareness programs, and actively engaging with our community, we can make significant strides in achieving our goals.
