Bain Park is an important cultural and recreational space for the community and a number of groups who both use and activate the space. Located in the heart of the Wauchope CBD, Bain Park attracts locals and visitors alike; it is a key community meeting place, playing host to markets and events year-round.

A series of comprehensive engagement activities have informed the Master Plan, which provides a guide for future development of this space. The Master Plan was adopted by Councillors at the 17 March, 2020 Ordinary Council Meeting.

In 2021, Council was successful in securing $1.45m under the NSW Government Public Spaces Legacy Program to design and construct the first two stages of the Master Plan(PDF, 6MB). This includes upgrades to the High Street and Avondale Street entries, public art, an accessible perimeter pathway and, a new playground and bike track.

Construction is expected to start in January 2023 and be completed by mid-year (weather permitting).

We are commitment to delivering recreational facilities to encourage a healthy, inclusive and vibrant community now and into the future.
