Water conservation measures

Water Conservation measures - Landing Page Banner

Water Restrictions have been lifted and we're encouraging residents to conserve our water to reduce our daily demand.

Our total combined storage (TCS) has risen above 70% giving the green light to move out of Water Restrictions.

While there's not currently specific restrictions in place regarding water usage for homes and businesses around our community, we encourage everyone to continue to practice positive water behaviours.

What does water conservation measures mean?

Under ‘Water Conservation Measures’ we encourage all residents and businesses to implement appropriate measures to minimise water use and wastage at all times. View our helpful hints and tips to help 'reduce our use' around the home or business.

And, below are some suggestions of how we can continue to reduce our use outdoors:

Watering gardens and lawns

  • avoid using hoses, sprinklers or water systems between 9:00am and 4:00pm
  • ensure hoses are fitted with a water cut-off trigger or control nozzle
  • where possible, use watering cans and buckets instead of a hose

Cleaning vehicles, houses, boats and outboard motors

  • ensure hoses are fitted with a water cut-off trigger or control nozzle
  • wash vehicle on grass or gravel areas

Topping up swimming pools:

  • monitor the filling and topping up of swimming pools and spas at all times so as not to let the pool overflow and waste water

Cleaning driveways, paths and hardstand area

  • use brooms, vacuum cleaners or air blowers to remove loose material
  • use an approved water efficient nozzle (less than 9 litres per minute) or high pressure cleaner unit, fitted with a water cut-off trigger or control nozzle

All commercial and industrial buildings, building and construction activities and landscaping industries

  • avoid using watering systems between 9:00am and 4:00pm
  • ensure hoses are fitted with a water cut-off trigger or control nozzle
  •  use reclaimed water for dust suppression where available

Whilst restrictions have now been eased, the community is encouraged to continue to reduce water use, and implement water saving initiatives inside and outside their homes and business, to help conserve water for our future.
