Flood affected residents can book a free bulky goods kerbside collection for flood damaged items. Visit our Community Flood Updates page for further details.
All residents with a domestic waste collection service may book a "bulky" waste collection (maximum 2 cubic metres - equivalent to the size of a small trailer) for a fee.
Check Council's fees and charges for cost of domestic waste collection which must be paid the week prior to the service. Call in to a Council office or call 6581 8111 to book and pay for this service.
Collection days are Monday to Wednesday. Please book the service with Council by 3pm the Friday before.
We accept household items only such as:
- small white goods (eg washing machine, dryer, bar fridge)
- electrical appliances
- any single item capable of being easily lifted by two persons.
The following items are not accepted:
- full sized fridges
- builder’s waste
- rolls of carpet
- bulk motor vehicle parts
- green waste
- household garbage
- industrial or farm waste
- hazardous waste (e.g. chemicals, paints)
Please advise customer service staff if you are disposing of scrap metal. Scrap metal must be sorted from your mixed waste and placed in a pile to be collected separately
Please try to recycle or re-use any of the items you want to dispose of.
Every ratepayer will have received two free tip tickets that can be used to drop off items at any domestic waste facilities at no charge.
Council also accepts a number of items for free at its waste facilities. See more about Free Drop off Items.
Any waste placed on the kerbside without a pay-as-you-go service booking will be treated as illegally dumped and appropriate compliance action will be taken.
