Community Recycling Centre Program

community recycling centres.jpg

Port Macquarie Domestic Waste Management Facility and Kew Domestic Waste Management Facility operate Community Recycling Centres with funding provided by the NSW EPA as part of the Community Recycling Centre Program.

The aim of the program was to establish a network of centres and services to make it easy and convenient for people across NSW to recycle or safely dispose of waste like paints, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, motor and cooking oils, car and household batteries, fluorescent tubes and globes, and smoke detectors. The program also aims to increase community awareness of good recycling and disposal practices for household problem wastes and to provide a sustainable solution for managing them.

Community Recycling Centres are drop-off centres for common 'household problem wastes' (up to 20 kg or 20 litres) that can't be collected via council kerbside waste and recycling collection services.

The Port Macquarie Waste Management Facility (Kingfisher Road) and Kew Domestic Waste Management Facility accepts many types of waste materials.
