Council created the roads hierarchy list in order to prioritise road repairs across the local government area which categorises roads based on:
- Traffic volumes
- Regional / local significance
- Speed limit
- Bus routes
- Proximity to schools and places of public interest
- Pedestrian activity
A laser survey of roads within our local government area is performed annually and provides important data which is used in determining where planned maintenance and repairs will be carried out to achieve the best results for the community.
Council looks at all customer requests that are received and prioritises the repair works according to the location of the repair within the road, the roads ranking in the roads hierarchy list and the potential risk to the community.
