Council created the 'Roads Hierarchy' list in order to prioritise road repairs across the local government area. The Roads Hierarchy list categorises roads based on:
- Traffic volume
- Regional / local significance
- Speed limit
- Bus routes
- Proximity to schools and places of public interest
- Pedestrian activity
Council conducts an annual survey of roads within our local government area. This important data assists in determining where planned maintenance and repairs will be carried out to achieve the best results for the community.
Council considers all customer requests that are received and prioritises road repair works according to the location of the repair within the road, the road's ranking in the roads hierarchy list and potential risk to the community.
