Lake Cathie playground

At Council’s Ordinary meeting in February 2018, Council unanimously approved the  Lake Cathie Foreshore Master Plan2MB pdf(PDF, 2MB) as part of the 2017-2025 Recreation Action Plan.

The Master Plan represents a long-term vision for the foreshore and provides an over-arching framework to guide future development. The Master Plan identifies opportunities and constraints of the site and incorporates the community’s vision for the space, identified through community consultation. It also addresses the use of the space, connectivity and activation to enrich the park. Structures, amenities, the stake park and other elements included in the Master Plan are indicative of this future development. In addition, the Master Plan provides a strategic direction for the allocation of Council funds into the future, as well as enabling increased opportunities to attract grant funding. The Master Plan will be delivered in stages subject to funding

Approved within the plan is the installation of a new family skate and recreation park, picnic and exercise equipment and additional off street car parking spaces. Also included will be the addition of new accessible amenities, shared pathways, landscape beautification, way finding signage and works to improve safety around the Lakeview Shopping Village.
