Local Flood Outreach Centres

Our dedicated flood outreach centres provide face-to-face support for impacted residents and businesses. There you will find representatives from a range of government and non-government agencies to help you with everything from grants to mental health support.

Flood Recovery Community Meetings

We're hosting community meetings across our region, so that you can meet with us to talk about how the floods impacted you and your community. We'll be providing updates on the recovery process, and collaborating on ideas to make the road ahead as smooth as possible. Community meetings will be held in the following locations on the following dates:

Service NSW is supporting flood-impacted people with information on and access to assistance and supports across an array of NSW Government partner agencies, local government and the Australian Government.

Claiming insurance - Insurance Council of Australia

The Insurance Council of Australia encourages affected homeowners to start clean-up before insurance assessors visit, without risk to their claims.

Call their hotline on 1800 734 621 if you are uncertain of your insurance details or have general questions around the claims process.

Disaster relief payments and grants

Service Australia and Resilience NSW have announced financial assistance for individuals and businesses impacted by the floods.

  • Disaster Recovery Payment – $1000 per adult and $400 per child if your home has been severely damaged or destroyed, or you've been seriously injured
  • Disaster Recovery Allowance – short-term income assistance (up to 13 weeks) if you've lost income as a direct result of the floods
