Seafood, fish, shellfish

Place in green bin.

Hint: Freeze seafood waste until bin collection day to reduce odours.

Remember: Please don't place food in your Red Bin as it will be landfilled and generate methane, 24 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

Serviettes

Place in red bin.

Straws

Place in red bin.

Straws are a single use item – please avoid using a straw when possible, or choose a reusable option. All straws must go in the red bin as they cannot be sorted or material properly identified.

Styrofoam or polystyrene

Examples of Polystyrene or Styrofoam include: Meat trays, protective moulded packaging or loose packaging pieces and beanbag beans. Loose small Styrofoam pieces should be securely bagged for collection and placed in the red bin as they may stick to the bin sides or blow loose into the environment during collection creating litter.
