Baskets and buckets

Woven baskets and plastic laundry baskets in good condition can be donated to your local charity store. Baskets and buckets in poor condition can be placed in the red bin if they will fit. Otherwise, these can be taken to one of our waste facilities.

Batteries - embedded

Port Macquarie Hastings Council are participating in an Embedded battery recycling trial funded by the EPA.

Drop off for free at a waste facility.

Embedded batteries are those that are enclosed in products and cannot be easily removed. Common products to find embedded batteries in are:

  • Bluetooth speakers/headphones
  • Electric toothbrushes, shavers etc
  • E-scooters, e-bikes and hover boards
  • Flashing light-up toys
  • Power packs and portable charging devices
  • Remote controlled and ride-on toys
  • Vacuum cleaners (cordless hand-held and robotic)
  • Vapes
  • Wearable devices such as smart watches, trackers and medical aids.

Many products have removable batteries, so if the batteries can be easily removed, please only bring the loose batteries.

You can find more information on embedded batteries at Embedded batteries | EPA
