Douglas Vale is a community asset so come and enjoy the picturesque gardens and marvel at the faithful restoration of the original homestead filled with authentic artefacts from the descendants of the original Francis, Wilson and Dick families. Enter through the magical heritage-listed bamboo grove and enjoy the many gardens - cottage, vegetable, pineapple and orchard. Marvel at the grape plantings struck from the last three Isabella vines found on the derelict property in 1995.
All the Villard Blanc, Chambourcin and Isabella grapes are harvested by volunteers and used to make the wines offered for free tasting at Douglas Vale. Come and enjoy them with a cheese platter, and sit under the shade of the magnificent mango tree.
Check out the new Wine House recreated to the style of the original cellar and conserving the convict-hewn bricks, and now available for function hire.
Attend our monthly Open Mic and enjoy local music and poetry performers on the last Sunday of the month from 12:15 to 2:30pm.
We have a wide range of volunteers committed to preserving this precinct and welcome new additions. Come and find your niche among like-minded individuals - all efforts are appreciated. Our morning tea musters are great for meeting others and finding connection.
Come and enjoy the fruits of our labours at Douglas Vale soon!
