Accessibility Programs at the Glasshouse

Each year the Glasshouse Regional Gallery presents and exciting and lively program of exhibitions. As part of this program we offer a selection of quality tours and creative art workshops for visitors with different abilities to access the exhibition programs.

TOURS ART AND ALZHEIMER’S ART APPRECIATION TOURS 45mins - 1 hour guided tour. $5 per visitor & their companion As part of the art appreciation tour participants will be viewing 3 to 4 selected artworks from the current exhibitions. During the tour your specially trained educators will start easy group chats and explore ideas about the selected artworks. Art and Alzheimer’s guided tour provides participants with something for the mind and something for the hands to create within a safe and caring environment.

10.30am - 12.30pm Friday’s during school terms Maximum of 5 visitors plus companions. Bookings essential two weeks prior to tour date.

FRIDAY LUNCHTIME CONCERTS 12.30 - 1.30pm Directly following ART AND ALZHEIMER’S - ART APPRECIATION TOURS is the Free Lunchtime Concerts
presented by the Conservatorium Mid North Coast, and could be a great end to an inspiring day out. Every Friday you can enjoy an hour of music, and all for free with musicians ranging from 9 to 90 years of age, every week is different! See singers, pianists, musicians, choirs and bands performing everything from classical to rock. All live and all local. Support our local artists and enjoy yourself. 

GROUP GUIDED TOURS 45mins - 1 hour guided tour. $5 per visitor & companion Take a guided tour of a current exhibition and find out more about the artworks and artists. Delivered at a relaxed pace by specially trained guides, the tour encourages talking about art, joining in and thinking about what you see. Tours take approximately 1 hour and focus on 4 or 5 artworks. Maximum of 5 visitors plus companions. Bookings essential three weeks prior to tour date.

BEHIND THE SCENES GLASSHOUSE TOURS 1 hour guided tour. $5 per visitor & companion Take a tour of the Glasshouse and explore the stage, dressing rooms and back of house areas and find out more about the magic of theatre. Delivered at a relaxed pace by specially trained guides, the tour encourages chats, joining in and thinking about what you see. Tours take approximately 1 hour. Maximum of 5 visitors plus companions. Bookings essential three weeks prior to tour date.

WORKSHOPS GUIDED TOUR & ART WORKSHOP 1.5 hour. $15 per visitor & companion Come and join our gallery educators on a guided tour of the current art exhibition and ArtLab. On the tour you will explore and get a better understanding about the selected artworks and the artist behind the work. From there you can create an art piece from an idea you’ve got from the exhibition. Maximum of 5 visitors plus companions. Bookings essential three weeks prior to tour date. 

ART WORKSHOP 1.5 hours. $15 per visitor & companion The 1.5 hour art-making workshops are designed around the current gallery exhibition and delivered by a professionally trained artist. The workshops provide an introduction to basic art making techniques in a fun and relaxed way. Maximum of 5 visitors plus companions. Bookings essential three weeks prior to tour date.
