A peaceful and tranquil picnic spot, Shelly Beach is hidden away and borders the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre.
There are 6 undercover picnic tables and 4 BBQs. The reserve is right on Shelly Beach, which has a natural small tidal pool that is perfect at low tide for kids to play and swim in. There is an outdoor beach shower, toilet facilities and car park.
The highlight of the area is the carved wooden sculptures in memoriam of Harry Thompson at the northern end of the reserve. The caravan shaped picnic table and monument stand near a walking track that leads up to Harry's Lookout on the headland.
