Free 'Sprayrite' App Saves Time and Money

To enable easier, more efficient distribution of chemicals and fertilisers for farmers and irrigators, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council have teamed up with eBoss Australia to develop a free mobile App called Sprayrite,

The Sprayrite App combines linked mathematical formulas to instantly calculate the right ratio of chemicals and water for a wide range of applications, eliminating the need for manual calculations and saving precious time and money across a range of rural industries.

Council Group Manager, Debbie Archer, said the Sprayrite App has come about thanks to a chance meeting at a local school working bee.

"Our Environmental Project Officer, Ben White, had already developed a concept for calculating more effective ways to distribute chemicals across the school grounds when he met software developer, Dave Balkin, from eBoss, with the discussion leading to the Sprayrite app being conceived and developed," said Ms Archer.

"The great thing about the App is its simplicity and ability to provide fool-proof calculations at the click of a button, and store these for future use… plus it’s FREE!"

In 2018/19, more than 7.2 million megalitres of water and chemicals were applied to crops and pastures across Australia.

The Sprayrite App calculates the amount of product required for the total land area and total spraying time, providing the most efficient volume of water required all from user inputs.

It also calculates the amount of chemical needed in each tank, the number of tanks, and time required for each tank to empty.

Managing Director, Dave Balkin, said everyone at eBoss is very proud to partner with Port Macquarie-Hastings Council on this exciting project.

"The innovative technology we’ve developed will enable farmers to save significant time and money while creating a more sustainable future," said Mr Balkin.

"We’re really looking forward to our local community taking advantage of this simple but innovative new tool," added Ms Archer.

"And the great thing is, the App can be used worldwide and within other industries who use boom sprayers such as local councils, turf producers, golf courses, wine producers and more."

The Sprayrite App can be downloaded FREE from our website or search the Apple App or Google Play Store.
