Reminder to have your say on Council's draft 2018-19 plans
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council 2018/19 draft Operational Plan has been on exhibition in recent weeks, and the community are being reminded not to miss the opportunity to ‘have your say’.
The draft plan details the proposed actions, activities, projects, budget and performance measures that Council will focus on during for the 2018/19 financial year.
“We’ve been really encouraged by the number of people in our community who have taken the opportunity to get involved in the process,” said General Manager Craig Swift-McNair.
“Council staff have been out and about engaging with our community, answering questions and listening to feedback and we’re encouraging everyone to take the time to tell us what you think, and where we should be focussing our efforts.”
The 2018/19 draft Operational Plan is on exhibition until Sunday April 22.
During 2018/19 Council will continue its focus on maintaining and upgrading our sealed and unsealed road network, bridges and roadside vegetation; invest in providing a reliable and safe sewerage network, water supply and related services; provide efficient and environmentally friendly waste services; maintain and upgrade our regions playgrounds, sporting fields and open recreation spaces; and provide stormwater maintenance and monitoring services.
Key projects that are proposed include stage 1 development of the Hastings Regional Sports Fields, planning to provide centralised sewerage systems in Comboyne, Long Flat and Telegraph Pt, commencement of upgrades to the Port Macquarie Airport terminal, a new water trunk main from the Pacific Hwy to Bonny Hills and the list goes on.
Council will invest more than $2million in road resealing works across the region and more than $1 million in playground and reserve improvements. A handy fact sheet has been developed for those community members who would like a high-level overview of the draft plan, including a snapshot of key projects taking place in the Camden Haven, Port Macquarie and Wauchope regions.
The 2018/19 draft Operational Plan is on exhibition until Sunday April 22 and can be viewed at haveyoursay.pmhc.nsw.gov.au/future-planning and at Council offices and libraries in Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope.
