Catch a movie under the stars
Calling all families… get the kids out of the house these school holidays, grab the fold-up chairs, shake off the picnic rug and make your way to a local moonlight movie.
Proudly presented by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, the FREE Hastings Moonlight Movies will once again return to Bonny Hills, Wauchope and Port Macquarie where local families and visitors are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy a movie under the stars.
The upcoming movie screenings and locations are:
Trolls (G) – 6pm on Thursday 26 April - Rainbow Beach Reserve, Bonny Hills.
Trolls is a funny and irreverent comedy about the search for happiness, and just how far some will go to get it. This hilarious film will transport audiences to a colourful, wondrous world populated by the overly optimistic Trolls, who have a constant dance in their step, a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs.
Hunt for the Wilder People (PG) – 6pm on Friday 27 April - Bain Park, Wauchope.
Raised on hip-hop and foster care, defiant city kid Ricky gets a fresh start in the New Zealand countryside. He quickly finds himself at home with his new foster family: the loving Aunt Bella, the cantankerous Uncle Hec, and dog Tupac. When a tragedy strikes that threatens to ship Ricky to another home, both he and Hec go on the run in the bush. As a national manhunt ensues, the newly branded outlaws must face their options: go out in a blaze of glory or overcome their differences and survive as a family.
Hidden Figures (PG) – 6pm on Saturday 28 April – Town Green, Port Macquarie.
Hidden Figures is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson who were brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored a nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world.
