Sporting facility upgrade application form

The below form can be used by sporting groups to apply for support from Council to upgrade facilities. Such projects may include installing or repairing fences, amenities, canteens etc where the sporting group are proposing to source funding or fund the project internally and commit to ongoing maintenance requirements. It’s important to note that the organisation arranging the project will take responsibility for all associated maintenance and repair of the asset.

Council requirements to consider in the ongoing maintenance of the asset include:

  • Graffiti - obscene graffiti is required to be removed within 24 hours of notification.
  • Fit for purpose - the works completed are required to continue to deliver on the intended purpose as outlined in the project rationale and summary. This includes all electrical, water and toilet/sewer installations.
  • Structural integrity - where structural works have been undertaken, the structure is maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Aesthetics - the development is maintained in accordance with fair wear and tear. Council will be within its rights to request organisations to complete remedial works to maintain the aesthetic quality of a facility.
  • End of useful life - The Club/applicant will assume responsibility to either replace the structure or remove the existing structure including site remediation at end of useful life.
