COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update
We take our responsibility for the health and well-being of our community and employees seriously.
The impact on communities across NSW and Australia is evolving rapidly. We continue to work under the guidance of the NSW Department of Health and Australian Government Department of Health, and as such Port Macquarie and Wauchope Indoor Stadiums are currently closed.
Please note that this information may change and we will continue to monitor this situation closely.
The Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium was expanded in 2016 to accommodate both the growing area and also to bring larger sporting and recreational events to the Hastings. The upgrade involved the partial demolition of the existing indoor stadium, and the construction of a new wing.
The new building includes:
- 3 new courts (increasing the number of courts to a total of 6
- new multi-purpose activity rooms
- a kiosk
- large conference rooms
- and a large car park for easy access
These improvements will allow the Port Macquarie-Hastings region to showcase local, state and national talent bringing people from across our state into the area. This will provide benefits to not only the users of the stadium, but also to local businesses such as accommodation providers, restaurants and local shops.
The stadium is widely used by many groups including basketball, gymnastics, futsal, netball, volleyball and badminton and IFMG who have won the tender rights to manage the stadium for the next 5 years are looking to consolidate and enhance their current format, bringing in new weekly social sporting opportunities. This will go hand in hand with recreational activities such as Yoga, Meditation, Ballroom Dance, Salsa, First Aid Courses etc. which will be on offer in the near future. Information regarding current activities and events can be found on the Port Stadium website.
