Community Markets

The Port Macquarie-Hastings region hosts a range of popular markets featuring regional produce, artisan food products and crafts. These markets provide place activation throughout the calendar year, bringing communities closer to producers, enlivening otherwise vacant spaces, and provide the opportunity for a range of value-adding businesses to start-up and grow in our region.

Given the increasing popularity and prominence of markets across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region, Council has developed a Markets Policy to communicate our approach to the approval of markets, and facilitate well managed markets that help to support and contribute to local communities, complimenting the offerings of local businesses. Key considerations in the markets policy include the proposed market location, regularity and timing.
