Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, with support from the NSW Heritage Branch, offers grants to owners of heritage listed properties within the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA. These grants typically support owner’s efforts at conservation and maintenance of the many important heritage items in our region.
Funding is provided on a 1:2 ratio, up to $3,000 to owners of heritage items and up to $2,000 to owners of contributory buildings in conservation areas. For every $1 that Council contributes, you will need to contribute $2. If your project is $3,000, Council will contribute $1,000 and you must contribute $2,000.
What Projects are Eligible for Funding?
To find out if your property is listed as a heritage item or a contributory building in a conservation area, refer to Schedule 5 of the Port Macquarie-Hastings LEP 2011, then you will be eligible for funding.
The types of projects that are normally funded include:
- repair, maintenance or reinstatement of missing items on heritage buildings i.e. fences, verandahs, roof cladding and/or decorative detail
- structural work
- final painting of projects
This year Council will consider all applications.
