Tourism support

Greater Port Macquarie work closely with Destination NSW and the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association to support local businesses, and increase their visibility to visitors and locals through marketing and publicity opportunities.

They work to deliver an annual Public Relations Program that actively seeks out opportunities to promote our region across a range of print and digital platforms.

Promote your business

List your business on the destination website.

We encourage local businesses to add their listing on the Greater Port Macquarie website, which is seen by over 30,000 people each month. This listing feeds through from the Australian Tourism Data Website (ATDW) platform to process your registration, meaning your business is searchable in a local database, but also nationwide.

Make sure you have some images and a business blurb ready then register and list your business on ATDW, which will then feed into the Greater Port Macquarie website automatically.

Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association

The Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association (GPMTA) is a non-profit Association and is the peak industry body representing the interests of the tourism industry in the Greater Port Macquarie area, which includes Camden Haven and Wauchope. We work with this association and all stakeholders to achieve a sustainable increase in visitor numbers for Greater Port Macquarie. Vital to this is a strong and united tourism industry, which member participation greatly assists.

Human Kind - COVID-19 campaign

As we head into the busy holiday season, combined with additional COVID requirements, it's fair to say there'll be times when this will impact the visitor experience. In an attempt to help ward off frustrations, we will be asking people to be kind when they visit. Kind to our local community and to the staff who will serve them.

To help, we've produced the HumanKind campaign, a suite of assets designed to be a highly visible reminder to be patient and kind! Banners, posters, stickers, print ads and art have been distribute throughout the region, and via our online channels.

Your business can join over 150 local businesses that have already jumped on board. Campaign assets include:

  • Repositionable vinyl stickers (to affix to windows, counters, etc)
  • A3 posters
  • Drink coasters (some accom and pubs only)
  • Large vinyl banners
  • 'Guerilla-style' street art by local artist Brad Collins
  • Ads in Focus magazine and back page of Summer Discover mag.

Talk to your staff about the campaign, give them a way to respond to impatient customers and get everyone on message - this is the season to be both - Human and Kind!

You can access the digital kit for downloadable social media tiles and posters. We'd love you to help amplify this messaging via your socials. Use the hashtags #HumanKind - #BeKind - #iloveportmacquarie.

The campaign is supported by:

  • Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association
  • Hastings Liquor Accord
  • Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce
  • Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce
  • Wauchope Chambers of Commerce.
