Procurement Quick Links

Local Government Procurement

Government Procurement (LGP) has been established to provide a fully integrated procurement service to councils and associated organisations in NSW. From October 2008 LGP also has the ability to assist Not for Profit Groups across Australia with their procurement  needs. LGP was established by  Local Government NSW on behalf of its members to create a procurement operation dedicated to meeting the specific needs of Local Government.

These tools are provided by NSW Local Government Procurement for use by all NSW Councils. Council staff can use these tools to get proposals and quotes from LGP Preferred Suppliers. On request, Councils can get additional functionality, allowing them to manage their own Local Panels and view staff activity.

ICAC Independent Commission Against Corruption NSW

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) was established by the NSW Government in 1989 in response to growing community concern about the integrity of public administration in NSW.

The ICAC’s principal functions are set out in the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988. In summary, they are:

  • to investigate and expose corrupt conduct in the NSE public sector
  • to actively prevent corruption through advice and assistance, and
  • to educate the NSW community and public sector about corruption and its effects.

The jurisdiction of the ICAC extends to all NSW public sector agencies (except the NSW Police Force) and employees, including government departments, local councils, members of Parliament, ministers, the judiciary and the governor. The ICAC’s jurisdiction also extends to those performing public official functions.
