All jobs are advertised on Council’s website, and you can also register for job alerts. This is a weekly alert email where you are notified of roles that are being advertised.

Every role has a contact person who can provide you with more details about the role being advertised.
- How do I apply for a job at Council?
You need to address the selection criteria which can be found in the role description and then you need to submit your application by the closing date.
When will I hear from Council regarding my application?
You will receive an email acknowledgement so you know we have received your application. Candidates that are not successful in gaining an interview will be notified once the applications have been shortlisted which is generally between two and three weeks after the role closes.
Can I get feedback if I am not successful?
Yes, you can contact HR and you can ask for feedback regarding your application.
Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
Yes you can.
Can I post/fax you a copy of my application?
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council receives applications by the online recruitment system. Please note we no longer accept hard copy applications. If you need access to a computer to submit your application you can join our local library which has three locations:

- Wauchope Library - 49 High Street, Wauchope Ph: 6581 8162
If you do not live near a Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Library, we suggest you contact your local libray to enquire about the provision of computers to the public
Who will see my application or expression of interest? Is it confidential?
Your application will be treated with respect and confidentiality. The only people to see your details will be members of our recruitment team, the hiring manager and the selection panel members involved in the role(s) you have applied for.
