Council are constructing pedestrian refuges and shared pathway on Ocean Drive at Kew, Lakewood and West Haven commencing in late November 2019.
These works are part of the Schools to Schools Footpath Project and have been identified as a priority pedestrian safety and footpath connectivity upgrades. Construction is jointly funded by Council and the RMS. The duration of works is approximately 16 weeks weather permitting.

The Schools to Schools Project aims to deliver a continuous shared path between Laurieton and Kendall in the Camden Haven region. As part of this project Council have previously completed the following shared pathway upgrades on Ocean Drive:
- Between Pacific Highway and Brotherglen Drive - Completed in three stages between 2015-2017
- Between Sirius Drive and Fairwinds Avenue - 2017
- Between Glen Haven Drive and Pacific Highway - 2018
