Construction on a second all weather multi-purpose synthetic playing field at Wayne Richards Park has been completed; a key project within Council’s adopted Recreation Action Plan.
The new field provides opportunity for various sports groups and can be used for school use, club training and weekly games. The facility is built to a standard that can provide opportunities to host sporting events and competitions.
The new Polytan H2Oz all weather playing field has a synthetic turf surface and provides a field primarily for hockey use but also designed to enable recreational use by other sporting groups.
The project included footpaths and ramps to cater for those with mobility needs.
The field will be managed by the Port Macquarie Hastings Hockey Association and inquiries can be made through their website.
