The Hatch Road is a predominately unsealed rural road, situated approximately 15km north-west of Port Macquarie's CBD. The road currently services approximately 150 vehicles per day accessing a variety of rural residences and agricultural lots.
As part of a 2019 Australian Government election commitment from the now Member for Cowper, Mr Pat Conaghan, funding has been secured for bitumen sealing of The Hatch Road between Blackmans Point Road and Elfords Road.
In October 2020, Council received confirmation of $1,502,209 of funding from the Australian Government to upgrade The Hatch Road between Blackmans Point Road and Elfords Road to a sealed road pavement. Design, planning and environmental approvals are nearing completion, before the project progresses to construction in the second half of 2021.
