We’re upgrading the playground at John Dick Reserve (Lighthouse Beach area) and earlier this year, we asked our community what they loved about the current playground and what their vision is for a future upgrade.
From community feedback, we’ve developed a concept design2MB pdf(PDF, 2MB).
The playground upgrade will include landscaping improvements, 1m wide footpath, balancing log, 3m high lunar climbing net, a sheltered picnic setting, dual rocker, and double slide as well as upgrades to existing lizard feature, swing set and play unit.
Construction is scheduled to commence late July 2021 and will take approximately four to six weeks to complete (weather permitting). During this time, the playground will be closed and temporary fencing will be installed around the site to ensure the safety of our community.
In the meantime, why not visit some of our others parks nearby? The closest playgrounds to this facility are:
- Blair Reserve Playground
- Sandhurst Reserve Playground
- Ashdown Reserve Playground
The upgrade to John Dick Reserve Playground was identified in the 2020/2021 FY Operational Plan and is an investment of $84,900. This project supports our commitment to providing a large range of outdoor recreational spaces for our community.
