Kew, a brand new playground is here!
Construction for a new community playground in Kew was completed in December 2019. The new playground is situated behind the iKew Visitor Information Centre and kids will be jumping for joy with the inclusion of nature & music play, a slide, swings, flying fox... plus a timber plane.
The Kew Community Park project builds on Council’s commitment to provide a large range of outdoor recreational spaces for our residents. This project encompasses the design and build of a new playground and park facilities in open parkland adjoining the iKew Visitor Information Centre.
The installation of picnic settings and improvements to landscaping will result in an inviting setting for a broader demographic of the community and encourage people to explore new recreational facilities in their own backyard.
Local community groups and organisations have donated their time and resources to assist in the construction of the playground, including the Kendall Men’s Shed who constructed picnic tables and the timber airplane, Work for the Dole crews who installed the seating, bins and shelters, and NSW Forestry who donated the playground logs.
Funding for this project has been provided in full by the state government through the Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 2.
Playground complete and opened 17 December 2019
