Council is responsible for holding Australian Citizenship ceremonies for conferees who have been approved by the Department of Home Affairs.
Once approved, the Department will write to the conferee advising that they will be invited by Council to attend a Citizenship Ceremony to make their citizenship pledge and receive their Citizenship Certificate. Council can only invite a conferee to a ceremony if their name is on the list of approved conferees provided by the Department.
Citizenship ceremonies are held approximately every eight weeks throughout the year.
Candidates should contact the Department of Home Affairs on telephone 131 881 for any queries regarding the processing of their application.
