Geoff is a businessman with extensive marketing and branding experience in consumer and financial services. Geoff has worked in large corporations both around Australia and internationally. He has also successfully operated and owned his own companies and also practiced as a business consultant. Geoff has extensive experience at Director and Chief Executive level.
Geoff’s diverse business background and his experience in “turnarounds” – saw him selected as an external professional member of Council’s Audit and Risk Committee in 2010. Since being elected a Councillor in September 2012, he has continued to serve on the committee as a Councillor member. As well as the Audit Committee, Geoff is Chair of Council’s Finance Corporate Services and Information Technology Portfolio, a member of the Port Macquarie Town Centre Master Plan Sub-Committee, a member of the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee and is the alternate chair of the Economic and Cultural Development Portfolio.
Geoff’s community interests have also included volunteer work for St Josephs Primary School at Settlement Point in Port Macquarie and also several years as a mentor (and later Director and Secretary) of the Edmund Barton Centre, a Not For Profit Organisation that assists people wanting to start their own business.
Geoff’s wife Veronica has been a local primary school teacher for 27 years and between them they have five adult children.
