NSW Bike Week is an annual celebration of cycling.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has joined forces with Transport for NSW for Bike Week 2017. Council will be participating in Bike Week and we invite you to join us in delivering a week of fun filled biking events to our community. Bike Week will run from Saturday 16 September to Sunday 24 September 2017.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will be hosting bike festivities aimed at:

  • Promoting cycling as a safe and healthy mode of transport for short trips
  • Promoting cycling as a fun recreational activity
  • Improving novice cyclists skills and bike confidence
  • Educating the community on the importance of road safety and the road rules

Bike Week Fun Day

Saturday 16 September 2017

Join us at Westport Park for a day of cycling activities for the whole family. Council will be hosting a range of activities including a novice Bike Arena, Mountain Bike Challenge Track, Bike Mechanical checks and health advice.

Trail Terra Events

Saturday 16 September 2017

Trail Terra is hosting an urban MTB cross country Olympic distance event for all ages 10 yrs and above at Wayne Richards Park. Check out the website for more details and registration.

Sunday 17 September 2017 

The Bago Bluff Marathon starts at Bago Vineyard with 50km and 100km options on a scenic but challenging route. A free junior event will take place in Bago Vineyard, starting at 12pm. Check out more detail, including course information and registration at

Council and the Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Club are holding an open evening on Friday 22 September at Wayne Richards Park. Come and test your skills and receive advice from our local mountain bike experts!
