Ageing Strategy

Port Macquarie U3A ladies dance Group - Creative Ageing Festival

The  NSW Ageing Strategy3MB pdf(PDF, 3MB) is the state vision for a healthy, vibrant, active ageing population and how local councils can help prepare to respond to the demographic changes ahead.

Seniors comprise 32% of our residential population in the Port Macquarie-Hastings (compared to 24% NSW State Average) and this will increase every year. This significant demographic shift will affect the way we deliver services, design our homes and towns, plan our transport and develop our workforces.

If you would like more information about this please see the  NSW State Government Ageing Strategy3MB pdf(PDF, 3MB).
