Council offers pre-application advice for development applications. Use our free services to identify the:
- type of approval(s) needed for your proposal
- supporting documents & specialist reports required
- Heritage considerations
- Developer contributions
- Public infrastructure commitments
- requirements for larger scale developments.
Duty Planners / Surveyors
Applicants often like to discuss their proposal with a Council Planner or Surveyor before submitting an application. Our staff can identify which form and supporting documents you need, the fees payable and they can explain the application process to you. Early consultation with a Duty Planner/Surveyor can save you time and money. This service is available from Council's Port Macquarie Office Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 1:00pm. No bookings are required.
Book a meeting with our public infrastructure experts and planning/engineering staff to discuss large-scale development proposals before lodging an application. Pre-lodgement meetings allow issues to be identified early in the process, to determine the feasibility of a development and understand the DA lodgement requirements.
Refer to Pre-lodgement meeting for further information.
In partnership with the Office of Environment and Heritage, Council offers a heritage advisory service to owners of heritage and old buildings. We provide free technical advice on:
- renovation and repairs
- colour schemes
- urban design and planning matters.
Consultations are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month excluding January. Bookings are essential and can be requested by phone (02) 6581 8111 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Make an appointment with our Heritage Advisor, Stephen Booker in the early stages of your planning to avoid making costly mistakes or going to unnecessary expense.
