Council is responsible for holding Australian Citizenship ceremonies for candidates that have been approved by the Department of Immigration & Border Control.
Once approved, the Department will write to the candidate advising that they will be invited by Council to attend a Citizenship ceremony to make their citizenship pledge. Council can only invite a candidate to a ceremony if their name is on the list of approved candidates provided by the Department.
Citizenship ceremonies are held approximately every 6-8 weeks throughout the year.
Candidates should contact the Department of Immigration and Border Control on telephone 131 881 for any queries regarding the processing of their application.
