Thank you emergency crews
Thank you to our SES, emergency crews and Council staff who have been very busy over the weekend in keeping our community safe. With more rain expected please continue to exercise caution and stay safe on our roads.

Council Meeting Wauchope

At last week’s Council meeting in Wauchope, residents donned their raincoats and gumboots and braved the weather to engage with Councillors and Council executives on a number of local issues.

The community heard that Council is in a good financial position and will remain focussed on the key areas important to our community. Council is committed to reducing the infrastructure backlog and we will continue to pay attention to its core services including water, sewer, stormwater and roads. Over the next four years the spotlight will be on building our infrastructure and renovating and rejuvenating our community.

Council meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month from 5.30pm and we thank our community groups across our local government area for their interest, effort and passion for our region.

To find out more about Council meetings including agenda’s and minutes, request to speak in a public forum and subcommittees of Council visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/councilmeetings.

Welcome new Citizens

Last week we welcomed 14 new citizens and over the past 6 months have celebrated more than 80 new citizens to our region from all corners of the globe. These new citizens celebrated what it means to be an Australian and we embraced the richness of diversity and culture they all bring to our region.

New citizens were presented with their certificates after making a solemn commitment to uphold the values, privileges and responsibilities of being Australian.

Citizenship ceremonies present the opportunity for candidates to pledge their allegiance to Australia and celebrates the final important step for those migrating to our great country.
