School holiday fun!

You can tell the school holidays have arrived, with lots of tourists hitting our towns and villages and school kids out and about making the most of their time off.

To make these school holidays even more fun, why not check out some of the great family fun events and activities on offer across our region.

If you haven’t dropped into our local libraries in a while, then now’s your chance. There’s heaps on offer for the kids this month, from learning how to record music in the music studio at Port Macquarie Library to learning about the world of honey harvesting and bee keeping from local experts at Wauchope library.

The Glasshouse also has some great exhibitions on show as part of this month’s Artwalk festival, and their behind the scenes tour is one not to miss, where you can explore the dressing rooms, back of house areas and find out more about the magic of theatre. There’s so much on so get out, explore and visit one of our local attractions over the coming weeks, and if you’re travelling, please take your time on our roads and drive safely.

Coastal Walk revitalisation

Last week I was proud to announce more than $1.5 million being allocated by Council and the NSW State Government to upgrade our iconic Coastal Walk.

Lots of our community provided feedback on what they’d like to see as part of upgrades to the Coastal Walk, and this feedback was used to develop a master plan that supported Council’s funding application.

As you can see, your feedback and ideas for the future vision of our region really do count. There’s lots of opportunities to have your say on our projects and plans, and to provide feedback on where you think we should focus our efforts.

When we all come together, we can achieve great things for our local community – so let’s keep up the momentum, get involved and have your say!
